The Feldman Firm, LLC is proud to serve as local counsel to the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (www.uswcc.org) and the National Association for Female Executives (www.nafe.com) in their capacities as Amici Curiae in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Trump, et al., a federal lawsuit brought by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey seeking to block proposed Trump administration rules that would allow employers to opt out of providing health insurance coverage for contraception if they oppose its use on moral or religious grounds.
On July 12, 2019, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit issued a judgment and a precedential opinion affirming the nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the proposed new rules that was entered by U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. As a result of this successful appellate defense of the trial court’s injunction, the contraceptive mandate in the Affordable Care Act remains unchanged.
On March 25, 2019, The Feldman Firm, LLC, along with Dentons US LLP, which serves as primary counsel for USWCC and NAFE in litigation involving the contraceptive mandate of the Affordable Care Act, filed a federal Appellate Amici Brief in support of Pennsylvania’s and New Jersey’s response to the defendants’ appeal.
The Feldman Firm, LLC is thankful for the opportunity to continue to assist the USWCC, NAFE, and Dentons in this important and impactful public policy litigation.
